Regular readers may remember this post, where I shared my dreams of having a bookcase with a ladder. Well, I’ve got the bookcase part sorted, but I’m having to use a step stool to reach the high shelves. Would you like to see? Of course you would!

These were custom-made and fitted for me by Closets Design Studio, a local, female-owned company out here in Chino Hills. The whole process from design to build took about a month or so, and I’m so freaking happy with the result. And look at all the extra space, for even more books!
I also got a “currently reading” board, purely for my own enjoyment.

Side note, Thistlefoot is fantastic. Baba Yaga descendants? Check. Puppets? Check. It’s coming out in September; my review will be up soon.
I also bought a bookplate stamp from Paper Street Stamp Co. on Etsy (boo, Etsy). It took me months to choose which one I wanted; I think I made the right decision.

So that’s the start of my little home library. Future additions will hopefully be a chaise lounge, a cool-ass floor lamp, some kind of rug, an end table. I never had much interest in furniture before, and now I’m mildly obsessed.
What does your reading space look like? What would you dream book nook include?
